It all started 40 years ago when Arthur Pendelton decided that local docks deserved a truly authentic, no-nonsense fish and chips shop. Armed with a secret, crisp batter recipe and a passion for fresh, sustainably sourced cod, he opened The Rusty Anchor.
Today, Arthur's grandchildren run the same fryers, keeping the family tradition alive. We haven't changed a single thing — same local potatoes, same fresh daily catch, and the exact same smile at the counter.
